Purpose
The purpose of
the Boy Scouts of America-incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by
Congress in 1916, provides an educational program for boys and young adults
to build character, to train in the responsibilities of participating
citizenship, and to develop personal fitness.
Outdoor Activities - The
"Outing" in Scouting
Troop 14 believes
in an active outdoor program, based on the concepts outlined by Badden
Powell, founder of the Boy Scout movement.
Highlights include...
- Scouts
plan the calendar of events
- Patrol
method is followed, including cooking
- At
least one outdoor weekend activity every month
- Long-term
resident camp each summer at Camp Hi-Sierra
- High
Adventure Program (in conjunction with Crew 14)
- Learning
is coupled with great fun

Chartered
Organization
Community-based
organizations receive national charters to use the Scouting program as a part
of their own youth work. These groups, which have goals compatible with those
of the BSA include religious, educational, civic, fraternal, business, and
labor organizations; governmental bodies; corporations; provisional
associations; and citizen's groups.
Boy Scouting
A program for
boys 11 through 17 designed to achieve the aims of Scouting through a
vigorous outdoor program and peer group leadership with the counsel of an
adult Scoutmaster. Boys also may become Scouts if they have earned the Arrow
of Light Award or are 10-1/2 years of age and have completed the fifth
grade.
Troop and Crew 14 are pleased to announce that
many Eagle Scouts have achieved this rank. For a list of the our Eagle,

Venturing
A program for
young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through
20 years of age to provide positive experiences through exciting and
meaningful activities that help youth pursue their special interests, grow,
develop leadership skills, and become good citizens.
We
encourage you to attend one of our weekly meetings. We meet at the Santa Clara First Baptist Church, 3111 Benton Street, Santa Clara, CA
every Monday evening from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM.
